PUTNAM COUNTY, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating after a two-vehicle crash in Monroe Township, Ohio, left one person dead.

According to authorities, the crash happened at around 6:38 a.m. Wednesday on State Route 15, near milepost 4.

A preliminary investigation reported that a 33-year-old Lima man driving a Honda Accord was traveling west on State Route 15, while a 25-year-old Bryan man was traveling east in an Infiniti G37.

The man from Lima, identified as Dannie Davis IV, traveled left of center and struck the 25-year-old's vehicle, according to OSHP. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Bryan man was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

The crash report states that both drivers were wearing seatbelts during the collision, and drug impairment is suspected to be a factor in the crash.
